Workforce Initiative for Supportive Housing (W.I.S.H.) In the W.I.S.H. program (www.wishprogram.org), teams of volunteers provide support and encouragement to families moving from homelessness to stable housing. These teams, called “Hope Teams”, are comprised of 4-6 persons, usually 2-3 volunteer families, who are matched with a pre-screened family for a minimum of one year. The Hope Team and the family form relationships with one another as the family works towards self-sufficiency. Team members can serve as lunch buddies, tutors, celebrate birthdays and holidays together, assist with securing employment and new educational opportunities, and provide other life skills support as needed.
