Weddings

The Zohar, a core text of Jewish mysticism, teaches
that God continually creates new worlds by causing marriages to take
place. Temple Beth El is blessed to celebrate an abundance of weddings
every year. Your marriage ceremony can take place in our sanctuary or
at another beautiful location around Charlotte. We have some resources available to
help you find the ideal facility. Additionally, we have an elegant
chuppah (marriage canopy) that can be rented for use outside of Temple
Beth El. We consider marriage a time of sanctity and joy and will work
with you to create a ceremony that is meaningful, uplifting, personal
and steeped in Jewish tradition. Temple Beth El offers a marital workshop for engaged couples and newlyweds several times during the year. The class addresses pertinent issues of communication, finances, sexuality, and building a Jewish home. The clergy who officiate at your ceremony will also meet with you several times prior to your wedding day. Even if you are not getting married at Beth El, we would love to offer you words of blessing prior to your ceremony. Please call one of the rabbis to set up a wedding blessing at a Friday night or Saturday morning service. A number of our Beth El clergy will officiate at same-sex unions and at an interfaith marriage if they represent the beginning of a Jewish home. We are here for you to offer counsel on your upcoming wedding and on the home you plan to create. |
