S.P.I.C.E.

S.P.I.C.E.  is an acronym for Special Programs of Interest and Concern to Everyone (50+).  Our mission is to develop comprehensive educational, cultural, and social programs for the 50+ membership of Temple Beth El.
S.P.I.C.E. programming is made possible through a grant from the BJH Foundation for Senior Services.
Reservations are a must….

All S.P.I.C.E. programs follow the following format:
11:00 am – Jewish learning activities
12:00 pm – Lunch/socializing/recognizing life cycle events
12:45 to 1:45 pm – Special program

ALL S.P.I.C.E. programs are on the first and third Mondays, and lunch is available
(Cost $7.00) with a reservation made by the Thursday before the program to 704-749-3070 or online at

Monday, January 4 - In Luski Hall

11:00-Film “Young at Heart” Come see and hear a documentary

on a senior citizen’s choir that will leave you cheering as their story

celebrates the unbreakable bonds of friendship and the life-affirming power of music!

12:00-Lunch (RSVP required by December 31st)

12:45-Resume “Young at Heart”.  Q & A to follow.

 

*Tuesday, January 19 – S.P.I.C.E. OUT

Tour the Afro-American Museum.

RSVP Required by January 14th.  The cost is $20 per person

including bus tour and lunch.  Carpools will depart from

the parking lot nearest the Blumenthal Portico, Temple

Beth El’s office entrance, at 10:00 am.  Limited to 40.

11:00- Rabbi Schindler to talk about “It’s In the Stars: Judaism,

Astronomy & Astrology”

12:00- Lunch (RSVP Required by February 25th)

12:45- Mr. Leo Ognibene from the Road Space Show will present.

 

Monday, March 15 - In Luski Hall

11:00-Rabbi Schindler presents “Rejuvenating your Seder”

12:00-Lunch (RSVP required by March 11th)

12:45-Charlotte Symphony will play music ushering in Spring.

 

If you RSVP for a SPICE program and do not cancel you will be billed.  All programs are funded by grants from the BJH Foundation.

 

 

*Monday, January 18th, is Martin Luther King Day. 

You must RSVP for ALL LUNCHES.  All lunches are $7.00.  You may RSVP online at www.beth-el.com/rsvp.  Online RSVP’s require a one-time SIGN-IN on the website to set up a username and password.  Reservations can be made online by credit card or by personal checks which you may mail in or bring to the event.  You can RSVP by calling 704-749-3070.
