THANK YOU!

This season's ROOM in the INN program was a huge success considering the logistics of the Temple construction. Through the generosity of our volunteers who toiled to insure that 60 homeless neighbors were fed, given a warm place to sleep, offered friendship and shelter on cold and nasty weather nights, we were able to bring a little relief. I want to thank you all for your unfailing support for the last 14 years of the ROOM in the INN program, and I look forward to seeing you next season with hopefully more space and nights.

ROOM IN THE INN

Sponsored by Urban Ministries Center, this city-wide program provides housing and meals for homeless men, women and children from December to March. Temple Beth El volunteers provide and serve meals, set up beds, staff the overnights and drive participants in the JCC van. Contact Herm Zeigler at 704-364-1632 or email hermz@bellsouth.net.

Overnight monitors are needed as well as set up and breakdown for the following mornings. We also need breakfast makers, lunch makers and server/cleanup helpers. This is a great time to bring your teenagers along so they can get a glimpse of the difficulties our less fortunate neighbors face on cold nights on the Charlotte streets.
