Holy Rollers

Rabbi Druin, a Sofer from South Florida, visited Temple Beth El on Tuesday, July 6th, 2010 to examine the Temple’s Torahs and to teach those interested how to care for our Torahs. After spending the day examining our Torahs, Rabbi Druin will prepare a report on each which will include their approximate age, an appraisal on their value and what repairs are needed on each. Tuesday evening, more than 20 congregants met with Rabbi Druin for more than 3 hours learning about our Torahs and how to care for them. Congregants learned how to properly roll the Torahs, check them for problems, clean them, sew seams that have come apart and make small repairs. Each of our Torahs now has a “Team” of congregants assigned to it and the teams will begin caring for their Torahs immediately. If you are interested in joining a team, please contact Rabbi Schindler (rabbijudy@beth-el.com). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
