 Shari Hackman joined Temple Beth El in 2009 as the Membership and Outreach Director. She brings 15 years of experience in the areas of Human Resources, Event Management and Marketing/Sales. Shari has spent much of her free time volunteering for Jewish and Community organizations. She holds a bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) and hails originally from New York. Shari has enjoyed living in Charlotte with her two wonderful daughters, Lexie and Kendall, who enjoy TBE’s religious school program. She comes to us from the Membership Department at the Levine Jewish Community Center. Her prior experiences include twenty years of Residential Real Estate in the fields of: Sales, Marketing/Event Planning, and Closings; plus many years in volunteer and committee positions. She has volunteered on the TBE Membership Committee, the Comparative Religion Committee, the Purim Dance Committee, and is the founder and Co-Chair of ChaiLYTES. She has also served on the Charlotte Jewish Federation Women’s Spring Lecture Dinner Committee. Janie received her undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and continued her education at Penn State University and The American College for Paralegal Studies. Janie writes under the name of Janie Lam Meyers; her first publication was printed in 2009. She is currently working on a collection of short stories and a novel. Janie and her husband, Gene, relocated to Charlotte in 2007. They have three daughters, two sons-in-law and three grandchildren.
