Susan Jacobs has been serving as Director of Temple Beth El Religious School since 1999.  Susan earned a B.S. in secondary education, from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and is currently a student at the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies working toward a Masters in Jewish Studies.  She has many years of Jewish communal experience as both a professional and lay leader having been the Judaica teacher for the Charlotte Jewish Preschool, the Programs for Jewish Living Director and Children and Family Director at the Levine Jewish Community Center, and a teacher of many Hebrew and Judaica classes in other Jewish institutions.  She has served on the boards of Hadassah, The Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte and B’nai Brith Women    She oversees all aspects of Jewish education from kindergarten through Sheva (seventh grade).  Temple Beth El’s Religious School provides a comprehensive and quality Jewish education for nearly 500 students.  Susan is proud to work with an experienced faculty and staff of dedicated Jewish professionals.  A native Charlottean, Susan and her husband Donald have raised four children and are happy to be empty nesters.
