Information:
Susan Jacobs Educational Director |
Oddly enough, the most difficult part of our Sunday morning is
carpool pickup...
Please, be patient and kind to our staff, security officers and
other parents. Carpool only takes 10 minutes and could be even faster if
EVERY parent would follow the guidelines and be patient. You may park
and WALK to the sidewalk to pick up your carpool (crossing only at the
crosswalk, not in front of waiting cars), OR you may stay in the carpool
line, and your carpool will be called and waiting for you. DO NOT tell
your child/children to meet you at the car or anywhere else on the park.
We will NOT allow them to leave the school. These guidelines assure your
child/children’s safety. That is our only concern.

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
The curriculum of our school is based on the premise that we who call ourselves
Reform Jews should be proud of our heritage as Jews, as well as, the unique
perspectives of the Reform movement. We nurture the self-esteem of all of our
students, as individuals, members of families, communities, our nation, and as
Reform Jews and part of the Jewish people.
WHERE AND WHEN
Grades Kindergarten-Seventh
Our Religious School meets every Sunday. Families with students in kindergarten
through sixth grade have a choice of an early session that meets from 8:30 to
10:30 am or a late session that meets from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.
All seventh grade, Sheva (the Hebrew number seven), students meet on selected
Sunday mornings.
In addition, students in grades three through seven attend Hebrew School classes
on either Monday or Wednesday from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.
Grades Eighth-Twelfth
The Consolidated Hebrew High School of Jewish Studies is a joint venture of
Temple Beth El and Temple Israel. It is the primary institution of higher
learning in our community for teenagers in grades 8-12. After three years of
study in the Consolidated High School, a student will be confirmed at the end of
the tenth grade. Students then continue in Post-Confirmation classes. Hebrew
High meets on Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:00 PM.

The Charlotte Jewish Preschool’s Open Registration is in Full
Swing
The beginning of winter means different things to different people. For
some it means waiting out time until the warm weather begins again. For
some it is a respite from weekend after weekend of outdoor sports
leagues. Still for others, it is a time to consider hibernating like
bears!
For those of us at The Charlotte Jewish Preschool, the beginning of
winter signals the busy season of Pre-Registration for families already
attending our program and then the even busier season of Open
Registration when we receive applications from interested families.
Like the retail industry, we are months ahead of “real time.” Our
present enrollment is very close to our maximum.
If everyone returns, we have roughly 150 spaces before we even open up
to the community. We graduate about 80 children each year. We fill
spaces as the applications
are returned to us with priority going to families already enrolled or
alumni families with younger children ready to attend our program.
For new families who have applied during our Open Registration, priority
is given to families affiliated with Temple Israel, Temple Beth El or
the JCC. We invite families interested in our program to attend our Open
House in early January. We also have a website,
www.cjpkids.org, that gives
families basic information and more!
If you would like more information about The Charlotte Jewish Preschool,
please call our office at 704-944-6776. We will be happy to set up an
appointment for you to visit our facility and see us in action. We are
very proud of our school and welcome you to come see us shine!
