It is hard to believe, but our last meeting for the
fiscal year is upon us. Join us Sunday, June 15 for our
Brotherhood Membership Appreciation breakfast meeting.
We’ll spend most of the morning schmoozing, with just a little time
devoted to Brotherhood business, including voting on a new slate of
officers and introduction of new board members.

Look At All You Get For A $36 Brotherhood Membership
The upcoming fiscal year promises to be full of fun, camaraderie and
community service. Won’t you be a part of it? For the nominal price
of $36, you’ll have a chance to make many new friends while
providing important support to the Temple Beth El community.
Here’s what The Brotherhood accomplished in the soon-to-be
concluded fiscal year:
Strong financial support for Temple Beth El
• $10,000 to Capital Campaign
• $3,000 to help underwrite the annual
confirmation class trip to Washington, D.C.
• $4,600 toward a new synagogue phone system
• subsidized ($750) a LIBERTY youth group bus trip to a regional
event
• Funded and participated in the CPR/automatic external
defibrillator training
Successful fund-raising programs
• Hosted casino nights in the community
• Sold car wash tickets
Community activities
• Hosted our second annual, and increasingly
popular, Progressive Dinner for the entire
congregation
• Held monthly breakfast meetings throughout the year, featuring an
array of interesting and provocative speakers
• Sponsored a Fall and Spring golf tournament
• Purchased, packaged, and mailed Yom Hashoah candles to the entire
Beth El congregation
• Maintained the Temple’s Star of Life plaques
• Hosted Room In The Inn
• Attended Checkers hockey game
• Provided ushers for High Holiday and Friday night services
• Held the first-ever Men’s Seder in Charlotte

to volunteer. Mark a Lifecycle Event with a
Star of Life
Support Temple Beth El by acknowledging a key family event with the
purchase of a Star of Life plaque. Located on the wall outside of
the sanctuary, the Star of Life was created so members could honor
family and friends with words of endearment. The plaques cost
either $180 or $360, depending on size. Contact Harvey Katowitz at
