Micah Streiffer, Rabbi

Micah Streiffer is a product of Reform Judaism camping, the youth movement, and Israel programming. He earned his Bachelors Degree (summa cum laude) in Judaic Studies, with a minor in Music, from the George Washington University in 2000, and was ordained a rabbi by the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati campus, in June 2007.

Rabbi Streiffer is passionate about Israel, Hebrew, music, youth, and Jewish learning. His road to the rabbinate began during a semester spent in Jerusalem in high school, and has led him back to Israel three additional times for a total of nearly three years. He also spent time writing and editing at Torah Aura Productions, a leading publisher of Jewish educational materials.

While studying toward the rabbinate, Rabbi Streiffer served pulpits in Newark, OH, Colleyville, TX, Mattoon, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Richmond, IN, and Piqua, OH. In 2006, he was awarded the Rabbi Morris H. Youngerman Prize for the best sermon delivered in the HUC-JIR chapel. His rabbinate is guided by the principles of K’lal Yisrael (Jewish peoplehood) and Tikkun Olam (healing the world).

In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, making sushi, reading, fantasy football, and watching his beloved Denver Broncos. Rabbi Streiffer is married to Shoshana Streiffer, and they have two sons: Jeremiah (“Rami”) and Noam.
