It is an honor to serve you as president of the Temple
Beth El.
I look forward to working together to make our congregation the best
that it can be.
Thanks to Larry Farber and the hard work of all of the presidents before
him, we begin this new year with a vibrant congregation of more than
1,000 families.
The year past has been one of tremendous growth and transition, with a
new senior rabbi, a new executive director, a new education building.
Most congregations don’t see that kind of change in a decade, much less
during a single year! We are very fortunate that our efforts have
produced world class results, namely: Rabbi Schindler, Sara Schreibman,
and a facility to educate our children and adults that is unsurpassed.
We really do have a lot to be proud of, and even more to look forward to
in the coming years. Our new Board of Directors — a talented and
enthusiastic group — is working with volunteer committees and our staff
toward achieving three primary goals for the Temple in the coming year:
1) Improved communications
2) Stronger financial foundation
3) More engaged congregants
We are also focused on the long term, taking steps now to ensure that
Temple Beth El remains strong well into the future. Our planning
priorities are to ensure that the facilities, staffing, and finances are
in place to meet all anticipated needs.
We cannot rest on the good deeds and accomplishments of those who made
Temple Beth El the special congregation we enjoy today. We are
compelled to build, change and improve, while remaining the inclusive,
meaningful, caring community we call our spiritual home.
Thank you for your support, and for the opportunity to be your
president. Marcy, Daniel, Katy and I wish all of you a very happy,
healthy and prosperous New Year filled with love. L’shana Tova Tikateivu.
