Temple Beth El is a busy place.
Just hang out any day and watch the parade of individuals coming and
going. People come to shop in our gift shop, attend classes, seek counsel,
volunteer and just to check us out. As a staff we try our best to
accommodate everyone and to handle the challenges which are presented.
Most of the time, our customers are satisfied. Sometimes they are not. I'd
like to increase the former and cut down on the latter.
Barbara Katz, our immediate past president, had a favorite saying, "No
matter how good you are doing, you can always improve." One frequent
complaint I receive is, "I called with a question and no one returned my
call." On a personal level, I am trying to improve that situation. I have
asked my staff to do the same. We will be changing our voice mail messages
to try and alert you to times we will be out of the office. I am changing
my schedule and will make every effort to return calls between 9 and 11 in
the morning. If you call and have a matter that can't wait, ask for my
secretary, Pam and she will be glad to help. I am also listing some of our
employees' job descriptions to help you call the right people. In
addition, you will find our staff's extensions and email addresses on
page.
Without question, I am way better at responding to emails than phone
calls. The nature of my job makes it difficult for me to at my desk all
the time. I am generally at one meeting or another or somewhere else in
the building. And you know the game of tag that can be played over the
phone with voice mail. If you email me, I can guarantee I will respond to
it within 24 hours. If you call…..well, I'll do my best. My email is
info@beth-el.com.
Amy and I extend our best wishes for a happy Passover.
